2018 Reading Challenge: Week Three

I'm a little behind on posting updates on my progress on my reading challenge but the good news is that I'm still on track reaching my goal of one book a week!

For week 3 I read Rachel Zoe's Living in Style: Inspiration and Advice for Everyday Glamour
Living in Style: Inspiration and Advice for Everyday Glamour.

My rating: 3 stars

I've included an Amazon affiliate link (full disclosure here) but I actually picked this book up from the Dollar Tree for $1. I always browse through their book section because sometimes they have great books. I've bought some nice cookbooks from there that I've given with kitchen supplies as housewarming gifts.

Confession: I bought this book with the sole intention to use it as a prop because it was only a dollar. But when I got home I started to flips through the fashion magazine-like pages and soon I was actually interested in reading it. While some of the advice like hiring a nail technician to come to your house to do yours and your friend's nails while y'all catch up over red wine, were not applicable to my lifestyle, I did really enjoy the fashion history and Rachel's advice and how to channel a particular era or fashion icon. It was interesting to learn how designers think about how women live their lives when they design.

Overall it was a quick (and cheap) read and reading it sparked an interest in learning more about the history side of fashion. So if anyone has any suggestions on books let me know in the comments!
